Dositec WMD® 8 Manual Digital Chemical Dosing Pump

The Dositec WMD® 8 is an electronic dosing pump used to inject controlled amounts of liquid chemical into a water line or process system. It is suitable for water treatment, irrigation, fertigation, chemical dosing and general industrial dosing applications.

The pump uses an electromagnet and spring-driven piston system. The electromagnet receives electrical impulses from the pump’s electronic circuit, moving the piston and diaphragm to draw chemical in through the suction valve and discharge it through the delivery valve.

The standard supplied accessories include a foot valve, injection valve, 2m PVC suction hose, 1.5m PVC priming hose and 2m PE delivery hose.

The pump should be mounted so the pump head remains vertical, within ±15°. It should be installed in a ventilated, easily accessible location, with a maximum ambient temperature of 45°C.

The pump should be installed above the chemical tank where possible, with a maximum suction height of 1.5 metres. If the pump must be installed below the chemical level, an injection valve or anti-siphon valve should be used.

It should not be installed directly above the tank if the chemical gives off fumes, unless the tank is hermetically sealed. This helps protect the pump from aggressive vapours.

The delivery connection should always be made using the supplied injection valve. The manual specifies installing the injection valve into a 1/2" female threaded connection at the chemical injection point.

To prime the pump, open the purge nipple by half a turn, run the pump at around 50% of maximum flow, then close the purge nipple once chemical flows without air bubbles.
