Frequently Asked Questions
What is the DOSTEC® 50 used for?
The DOSTEC® 50 is a heavy-duty, high-precision dosing pump designed for dosing liquid products into hydraulic systems. It is suitable for water treatment, chemical processing, food, textile and industrial applications.
Is the DOSTEC® 50 available as piston and diaphragm?
Yes. The DOSTEC® 50 is available in both piston and diaphragm configurations. The piston range covers approximately 330 to 1200 L/h, while the diaphragm range covers approximately 207 to 1080 L/h, depending on the selected model.
What pressure range is available?
Pressure depends on the selected model. Piston models are available up to 12 bar, while diaphragm models are available up to 10 bar, with lower pressure ratings on higher-flow models.
How is the dosing rate adjusted?
The DOSTEC® 50 uses a micrometric regulator to adjust dosing flow from 0% to 100% of pump capacity. The manual notes that regulation below 10% is not recommended. Flow can also be adjusted using an inverter, allowing dosing control from 10% to 100%.
What power supply options are available?
The DOSTEC® 50 is available with three-phase 230/400V 50/60Hz and single-phase 230V 50Hz motor options. The motor power is 0.74 kW / 1 HP.
What materials are available for chemical compatibility?
The DOSTEC® 50 can be supplied with wetted materials including PP, PVDF and SS 316. Piston materials include PEUHMW, PVDF and SS 316, while diaphragm models use an elastomer base reinforced with fibre and PTFE covering.
What connection size does the DOSTEC® 50 use?
The DOSTEC® 50 uses 1¼" connections, with 1¼" NPT also available depending on the selected configuration.
What should be included in the hydraulic installation?
The hydraulic installation should include a 150 micron suction filter, injection check valve, safety relief valve, pressure gauge and, where required, a pulsation dampener, pressure regulating valve, flowmeter and calibration cylinder. The safety relief valve should be installed as close as possible to the pump to protect the system from overpressure.
What suction lift is available?
Suction lift depends on the selected model. Some DOSTEC® 50 models are rated up to 9 metres / 30 feet, while larger high-flow models may have lower suction lift. The suction lift rating is based on the dosing head and suction pipe being full, tested with water at 20°C.
What maintenance is required?
The oil should be changed after the first 500 hours, then every 2000 hours or at least once per year. The piston, seals, diaphragm, bellows and valves should be checked every 3 months or 1000 hours, and the suction filter should be checked monthly.
