Product Overview

80mm Woltman tangential paddle wheel water meter with Table D flanged connections, robust cast iron housing, dry-dial register and 16 bar maximum operating pressure.

The Zenner WI-N 80mm Woltman Water Meter is designed for reliable measurement in demanding applications where water may contain significant levels of suspended particles or contamination. It is particularly suited to agricultural irrigation, bore water, sewage treatment plants, wastewater systems and raw-water applications.

Its Woltman measuring mechanism is positioned in the upper section of the pipe, where there are generally fewer suspended particles in the flowing water. This design allows the meter to operate reliably with water containing up to approximately 30% impurities. Where water is heavily contaminated, Zenner recommends installing an external filter upstream of the meter.

The robust cast iron meter body incorporates a removable measuring insert for straightforward inspection and maintenance. Its completely encapsulated mechanical dry-dial register helps protect the counter from dirt and harsh operating conditions. The meter is suitable for both horizontal and vertical installation.

The 80mm model has a nominal flow rate of 90,000L/h, a minimum flow rate of 4,800L/h, a maximum continuous flow rate of 120,000L/h and a short-term maximum flow rate of 150,000L/h. The meter is designed for cold water up to 50°C and has a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar (1,600kPa).

A reed pulser can be retrofitted to the meter without damaging the calibration seal, allowing connection to compatible monitoring equipment, data loggers, remote displays and control systems. For WI-N meters from DN40 to DN125, the standard pulser value is 100L per pulse, with alternative pulse values available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Zenner WI-N 80mm used for?

The Zenner WI-N 80mm is designed for measuring polluted or untreated water in agricultural irrigation, bore-water systems, raw-water applications, sewage treatment plants and wastewater systems. It can also be used as a check or control meter for fresh water.

What is the flow range?

The 80mm version has a minimum flow rate of 4,800L/h, a nominal flow rate of 90,000L/h, a maximum continuous flow rate of 120,000L/h and a short-term maximum flow rate of 150,000L/h.

Is the WI-N suitable for dirty or contaminated water?

Yes. The WI-N is specifically designed for polluted and heavily contaminated water and can tolerate impurity levels of up to approximately 30%. For very heavily contaminated water, an external filter should be installed upstream of the meter.

What type of connection does the 80mm meter use?

The 80mm model uses a Table D flanged connection configuration. Confirm the exact supplied flange and bolt configuration when setting up inventory and product photography.

Can it be installed vertically?

Yes. The WI-N is suitable for both horizontal and vertical installation.

What is the maximum operating pressure?

The maximum operating pressure is 16 bar, equivalent to 1,600kPa.

Does the meter include a pulse output?

The meter is supplied as a mechanical meter, but a reed pulser can be retrofitted for remote monitoring and data collection. For DN40 to DN125 WI-N meters, the standard pulser value is 100L per pulse, with other values available on request.
