Product Overview
The AgriFlow 50mm Hydrocyclone Sand Separator provides an efficient, low-maintenance solution for removing sand and other heavy inorganic particles from irrigation water.
Water enters the separator tangentially, creating centrifugal force that directs heavier particles into the collection chamber while allowing cleaner water to continue through the system. With no internal screen or moving parts, the separator operates continuously without interrupting water flow for routine cleaning.
Manufactured from corrosion-resistant polypropylene and fitted with 50mm flanged connections, it is suitable for agricultural irrigation, bore water and other applications where suspended sand may damage pumps, valves, sprinklers or downstream filtration equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What particles will this hydrocyclone remove?
It is designed to separate sand, grit and other inorganic particles that are heavier than water.
Does it have a micron rating?
No. A hydrocyclone uses centrifugal separation rather than a screen, so it does not have a fixed filtration degree or micron rating.
Do I still need another filter?
Usually, yes. The hydrocyclone is commonly installed before a screen or disc filter to remove sand and reduce the load on the downstream filter.
What flow rate is required?
The recommended nominal flow range is 250–417 L/min. Operating within this range is important for effective centrifugal separation.
How is the collected sand removed?
Separated particles collect in the lower chamber, which can be manually flushed or connected to an automatic flushing arrangement.
