Product Overview

The AgriFlow 80mm Hydrocyclone Sand Separator provides an efficient, low-maintenance solution for removing sand and other heavy inorganic particles from high-flow irrigation water.

Water enters the separator tangentially, creating centrifugal force that directs heavier particles into the collection chamber while allowing cleaner water to continue through the system. With no internal screen or moving parts, it can operate continuously without interrupting water flow for routine filter cleaning.

Manufactured from corrosion-resistant polypropylene and fitted with 80mm flanged connections, it is suitable for agricultural irrigation, bore water and other applications where suspended sand may damage pumps, valves, sprinklers or downstream filtration equipment.

Key Features

  • 500–833 L/min Flow Range – Designed for high-flow irrigation and water-treatment systems.
  • Centrifugal Sand Separation – Removes sand, grit and heavy inorganic particles without a filter screen.
  • Durable Polypropylene Body – Corrosion-resistant construction for demanding water applications.
  • Low-Maintenance Operation – No moving parts or replacement elements, with easy collection-chamber flushing.

Applications

Bore water sand separation
Agricultural and horticultural irrigation
Drip and sprinkler system protection
Pump, valve and downstream filter protection
Pre-filtration before screen or disc filters
Dam and surface-water treatment
Cooling towers and industrial water systems

Frequently Asked Questions

What contaminants will this hydrocyclone remove?

It is designed to separate sand, grit and other inorganic particles that are heavier than water.

Does it have a micron rating?

No. It uses centrifugal separation rather than a screen, so it does not have a fixed filtration degree or micron rating.

Do I still need a screen or disc filter?

Generally, yes. The hydrocyclone is normally installed upstream to remove sand and reduce the load on the secondary filter.

What is the recommended flow range?

The nominal operating range is 500–833 L/min. Operating within this range is important for effective centrifugal separation.

How is the collected sand removed?

Separated particles collect in the lower chamber, which can be flushed manually or connected to an automatic flushing arrangement.
