Product Overview
The Dositec DOSMART® BC 1.5 is a compact basic control stepper motor chemical dosing pump designed for accurate low-flow liquid chemical injection in irrigation, fertigation, water treatment and industrial dosing applications.
With a maximum flow rate of 1.5 L/h and pressure capability up to 16 bar, this model is ideal for precise chemical dosing where a small, reliable pump is required for high-pressure applications. The stepper motor design provides smooth and consistent dosing, offering better flow control than traditional solenoid dosing pumps.
The DOSMART BC range is designed for simple operation while still offering strong control flexibility. It includes manual dosing control, proportional pulse control, remote start input and level sensor input, making it suitable for standalone dosing systems or flow meter-controlled chemical injection setups.
Built with a compact IP65 housing and chemically resistant wetted materials, the DOSMART BC 1.5 is a strong choice for users needing reliable low-volume dosing of fertilisers, acids, chlorine, treatment chemicals and other liquid products.

Applications
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the DOSmart® BC used for?
The DOSmart® BC is a stepper motor-driven dosing pump designed for accurate dosing of liquid chemicals. It is suitable for water treatment, agriculture, food processing, chemical dosing and general industrial applications.
What flow and pressure range is available?
The DOSmart® range covers flow rates from 1.5 to 60 L/h, with maximum pressure up to 16 bar, depending on the selected model.
What operating modes does the DOSmart® BC have?
The DOSmart® BC has three main operating modes: Manual mode, Proportional pulse mode and Check Info mode. These modes allow simple manual dosing, pulse-based proportional dosing and basic diagnostic/status checking.
How is the DOSmart® BC different from the DOSmart® AC?
The DOSmart® BC is the simpler version of the DOSmart range. It includes external pulse input, remote start/stop input and level alarm input, while the AC version adds advanced features such as 0/4–20mA input, ModBus, pressure sensor input, leak detection, flow detection, analogue outputs and relay outputs.
Can the DOSmart® BC work with a water meter?
Yes. The DOSmart® BC can accept pulse input from a water meter or flowmeter. In Pulse Mode, the user sets the ratio between input pulses and pump cycles, allowing dosing to be proportional to water flow.
What is Pulse Mode on the DOSmart® BC?
Pulse Mode uses an X:Y ratio, where X is the number of input pulses and Y is the number of pump cycles. The pump begins dosing after receiving pulses and adjusts its speed based on the time between pulses.
What happens if the pulse signal is outside the pump’s range?
If the pulse signal is outside the allowable range, the pump will trigger a “PULSE RANGE” alarm. If the pulse frequency is too low, the pump stops. If it is too high, the pump runs at full speed and any excess pulses are ignored.
Can the DOSmart® BC be started and stopped remotely?
Yes. The DOSmart® BC has a remote start/stop input using a volt-free contact. When the contact is closed, the pump can run, and when the contact is open, the pump is stopped.
What does Check Info mode show?
Check Info mode displays read-only technical and status information, including remote control status, internal temperature, power supply voltage, input pulse presence, product level status, firmware version and unit serial number.
How should the DOSmart® BC be installed?
The pump should be installed on a rigid horizontal surface, protected from water, away from heat sources and with adequate ventilation. A 150 micron suction filter is recommended, and a pressure relief valve should be installed close to the pump to protect the system from overpressure.
